Pledge Support for HomeAid’s 25th Annual Essentials Drive
Nonprofit invites companies and individuals to support moms and babies in honor of Mother’s Day with much needed essential items.
Atlanta – February 17, 2026 – HomeAid Georgia’s 25th Annual Essentials Drive is set to make its biggest impact to date in celebration of 25 years of rebuilding lives. The drive will run March 16 through April 13, distributing essential baby items to families with young children in need on May 8, just in time for Mother’s Day. Companies and individuals are invited to sign up as teams to raise funds for HomeAid Georgia to purchase the essential baby items through a wholesale distributor, delivering more items than ever before.
HomeAid Georgia partners with building industry volunteers to build and renovate housing and facilities for nonprofit organizations serving people experiencing or at risk of homelessness—many of whom are families with young children. Nearly 13,000 people experience homelessness in Georgia each night, with women and children making up almost 37% of that population. HomeAid recognizes the challenges families and individuals face in meeting basic needs during times of crisis and transition.
According to the National Diaper Bank Network, disposable diapers can cost $80 to more than $100 per month per child — and nearly half of U.S. families with young children cannot afford enough diapers to keep their infants clean, dry, and healthy. Many families report making difficult trade-offs to afford diapers, including missing work or school when they cannot leave a child at childcare without enough supplies. Babies can go through 8–12 diapers a day, and without enough diapers, caregivers may stretch supplies, change diapers less often, or attempt to clean and reuse disposables — all of which can increase stress and health risks for both children and their families.
With the support of the home building industry and generous community members, the Essentials Drive has collected more than 2.6 million baby essentials since 2002, supporting countless families across Georgia. HomeAid Georgia is recruiting teams to participate now. “In celebration of our 25th Anniversary, we are looking for 25 teams to raise $2,500 each which will result in 400,000+ essential baby items based on our new wholesale pricing enabling us to distribute more items than ever before,” said HomeAid Executive Director, Mandy Crater.
