THANK YOU for supporting HomeAid Georgia’s 24th Annual Essentials Drive
April 1 - 30, 2025
During the first phase of HomeAid Georgia’s 24th Annual Essentials Drive in April, the metro Atlanta community donated thousands of baby items online or dropped them off at 20 metro Atlanta locations including Academy Mortgage, Ameris Bank, David Weekley Homes, Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and SouthState Bank. Nearly 220,000 baby items were distributed to 24 nonprofits serving families in need just in time for Mother’s Day.
HomeAid Georgia's Essentials Drive continues through June, with the Athens Area HBA participating in honor of Father’s Day. All baby items collected will go to the Athens Diaper Bank.
During the week of May 5, volunteers from Pinnacle Financial Partners, Juneau Construction Company, Ameris Bank, Lennar, Starlight Homes, Timberlake Cabinetry, and BankSouth Mortgage helped unload, sort, count, and pack Essentials Drive donations at HomeAid Georgia in Alpharetta. Carter Lumber and Stuart Pro Heating and Air provided box trucks and assistance with delivery. All donated items were delivered to the nonprofits listed on this page, serving moms and young children in need just in time for Mother’s Day!

Why the Essentials Drive?
“HomeAid’s donation of diapers and wipes has been critical for the many moms that we serve. We partner with a school for children experiencing homelessness, and many of the mothers have younger children in diapers. Most live in shelters or hotels and have little access to these resources. Those with income have difficulty covering all their expenses, so any free essential can mean the difference between choosing to buy diapers or see a doctor. Others have no income and often have to leave infants in dirty diapers as long as possible to make them last.”

"It was like Christmas morning! The timing was perfect for this donation. We were out of Pull Ups and size 6 diapers and had several requests for them. The Essentials Drive donations allowed us to fill those requests. We were very low on wipes as well, so again perfect timing.
