Essentials Drive, Reimagined

March 16 - April 13, 2026

In celebration of HomeAid Georgia’s 25th Anniversary, the Annual Essentials Drive is evolving to increase its impact in support of families in need across our community. We’ve recruited 25 teams to raise at least $2,500 each for HomeAid Georgia to purchase the baby essential items through a wholesale distributor.

By partnering with a wholesale distributor, we’re able to stretch every dollar further, delivering more essential baby items than ever before.

Distribution Day

May 8, 2026 | 8am-12pm | HomeAid Georgia’s Parking Lot

Our impact comes to life at our first-ever Distribution Day. Volunteers will work together to unpack pallets of essential items, staff dedicated distribution stations, and load service providers’ vehicles as they drive through—ensuring supplies quickly reach the families who need them most.

Light refreshments will be available throughout the day, and don’t miss our big lunchtime grill-out—a chance to refuel, connect, and celebrate the shared pride of making a real, tangible impact together.

$25 = 100+ diapers

$2,500 = 10,000+ diapers

Frequently Asked Questions

I’d love to sign up as a team, but I’m worried about reaching the $2,500 goal. Do I have to hit it to participate?
Not at all! While each team’s goal is $2,500, reaching that amount is not required to participate. If you don’t anticipate getting close to the goal, we kindly ask that you consider supporting another fundraising team instead of creating your own. Every dollar raised makes a meaningful impact, and we’re truly grateful for all efforts.

When is the deadline for team registration?
The deadline to register your fundraising team is March 11, 2026.

Can our team collect essential items instead?
This year, HomeAid is focusing on monetary donations rather than item collections to help maximize impact. If this presents a challenge for your team, please reach out to us at info@homeaidga.org and we’re happy to talk through options.

Do I need to be part of a team to volunteer on May 8?
No! Volunteering is open to anyone who wants to be part of the impact. Please note that volunteer registration may close if we reach capacity, so we encourage signing up early.

What type of essential items are being distributed to help families with babies in need?
The following items will be purchased through the diaper distributor: baby diapers, baby training pants, baby wipes, adult diapers, and feminine care products.

How can I register my non-profit organization as a benefitting recipient?
Please complete the required online application to be considered for essential items.

Essentials Drive in the News

Why the Essentials Drive?

“HomeAid’s donation of diapers and wipes has been critical for the many moms that we serve. We partner with a school for children experiencing homelessness, and many of the mothers have younger children in diapers. Most live in shelters or hotels and have little access to these resources. Those with income have difficulty covering all their expenses, so any free essential can mean the difference between choosing to buy diapers or see a doctor. Others have no income and often have to leave infants in dirty diapers as long as possible to make them last.”

Crossroads Community Ministries

“We send a sincere THANK YOU for the amazing items donated to DCM as part of the Essentials Drive! Year after year, HomeAid Georgia and its supporters have continued to surpass our expectations and we consider HomeAid to be one of our greatest allies in the fight to alleviate homelessness in metro Atlanta.”

Decatur Cooperative Ministries

"It was like Christmas morning! The timing was perfect for this donation. We were out of Pull Ups and size 6 diapers and had several requests for them. The Essentials Drive donations allowed us to fill those requests. We were very low on wipes as well, so again perfect timing. We will be able to keep serving so many babies because of HomeAid Georgia!”
