HomeAid Engages 100+ Volunteers in September
Providing labor and material donations for nonprofit organizations serving people experiencing homelessness
Atlanta – October 6, 2025 – In addition to construction and renovation initiatives, HomeAid extends its impact through Community Engagement Programs designed to provide dignity and restore hope. In September, more than 100 volunteers joined forces to support Georgia families and individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as the organizations that serve them. Together, volunteers completed two Care Days and two CareKit assemblies, addressing immediate needs and strengthening community support.
Care Days are one-day, volunteer powered workdays, providing free of charge maintenance and repairs for nonprofit organizations, allowing them to dedicate more resources to directly serving their communities. Thirty-seven volunteers assembled 140 beds and tables in a historic seven-story building for Georgia Works. Sixty-seven volunteers tackled controlled wall demos, tore down and rebuilt a deck, built new railings, and painted the interior of the building for Clayton County Community Services Authority (CCCSA). Thanks to the dedication and generosity of these companies and individuals, over $47,600 in labor and materials were donated to help nonprofits fulfill their missions.
Isaiah Zimmerman from CCCSA expressed, “Our Care Day was a beautiful success, and we are beyond grateful to the amazing volunteers who came out to support the renovation of our building. Together, you’ve helped us create a safer, more welcoming space for our community.”

CareKits are filled with essential hygiene items like socks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and more. HomeAid hosted its first-ever CareKit assembly events in partnership with the Athens Area Home Builders Association and NowackHoward LLC, marking a milestone collaboration for both organizations. Together, these efforts delivered 700 essential hygiene kits to people experiencing homelessness in the Athens and metro Atlanta areas.
Toni Williams from NowackHoward LLC said, “As a firm, we truly believe in the value of giving back to our Atlanta community. While it takes a village to bring change, we are grateful to do our part—however big or small— in supporting our community.”
HomeAid Georgia – Formerly HomeAid Atlanta builds new lives for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness through construction, community engagement, and education. HomeAid accomplishes that mission by partnering with the building industry to receive discounts and donations on construction and maintenance projects for nonprofits providing housing and supportive services. The non-profit organization has completed over 200 construction projects at locations for victims of domestic violence, teen mothers, veterans, and more, utilizing connections with building industry professionals and community organizations. In addition to these projects, HomeAid engages with community partners to meet immediate needs through drives to collect essential hygiene items. Learn more at www.homeaidga.org.
