David Weekley Homes - HomeAid Care Day

HomeAid Georgia, David Weekley Homes, and trade partners save over $97,000 for Forest Park nonprofit

FOREST PARK, GA – May 28, 2025 – On May 16, David Weekley Homes and its trade partners joined HomeAid Georgia for a major Care Day at Calvary Refuge Center, which provides emergency and transitional housing in a safe, faith-based environment for individuals and families while providing the tools to transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

“From the beautifully updated landscaping and remodeled transitional units to the installation of a new stove, renovated bathrooms, fresh painting, upgraded electrical outlets, enhanced residents' storage, and improved drainage and water runoff systems, our facility has been truly renewed. A vision has now become reality because of HomeAid, David Weekley Homes, and their trade partners. Your craftsmanship and compassion not only improved our physical space, but also the lives of the individuals and families we serve. The improvements you made will allow us to expand our reach, better utilize key areas of our facility, and ultimately, fulfill our mission more effectively. Your work has given our residents more than just shelter; it has given them dignity, hope, and a safe place to heal and rebuild. For this, we are profoundly thankful,” said Keisha Zimmerman, Calvary Refuge Center Executive Director.

Approximately 50 volunteers completed a variety of tasks throughout the Calvary Refuge Center campus on May 16, and 30 volunteers began work at the site the week prior. David Weekley Homes engaged these trade partners for the Care Day, who generously donated or discounted nearly $80,000 worth of labor and materials:
