When John began his more than 20-year career with Patrick Malloy Communities, he brought with him over 20 years of successful land planning experience which included Franzman/Davis and HGOR, where he was a partner. At PMC, he used that expertise to help identify and secure land for new developments throughout the greater Atlanta area and beyond.

John possessed an incredible knowledge of the history behind many of the region’s largest communities. He attended planning and zoning meetings, met with landowners, and worked closely with other homebuilding companies in the effort to procure property for Patrick Malloy Communities.

Once a property was secured, John would personally design the site plan by hand — carefully laying out streets, lot configurations, and amenities for each new development. Armed with his beloved collection of ink pens, pencils, crayons, and highlighters in every imaginable color, he transformed each plan into a true work of art.

Over the course of his career with PMC, John assisted in the development of more than 50 communities and over 5,000 lots. His expertise and vision are greatly missed.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his gift for storytelling. Anyone within listening distance could expect to hear one of his seemingly endless stories, often made even more entertaining by the fact that John would laugh so hard during the telling that the punch line itself became secondary to his unforgettable delivery.
